Tata Motors is bound to enter the premium hatchback segment with its new Altroz. The car is believed to enter the market rivaling popular hatchback cars such as Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. Last year in December, Maruti Suzuki Baleno became the top-selling model in India with 18,364 units sold. Ranking fourth in the yearly performance in 2019, the total sale was around 1,83,862 units.
The price of Tata Altroz is yet unknown but the features the car will offer as against the hatchback segment cars are noteworthy. Altroz is designed and highlighted by sharp lines and edges which it external appearance more compelling. With a tipped-forward position nose, the design is complemented by a chiseled hood. To stress the beauty, the grille is highlighted by chrome. Altroz has fog placed perfectly placed which integrates the LED daytime lights. The blacked-out bezels around the window give the car a tipped forward look making it look like a sports car.
Altroz is powered by 1.2 L BS6 Three Cylinder aspirated petrol engine with an output of 86 PS and 113 Nm torque along with a 5-speed manual transmission system. The diesel variant will be powered by a Four Cylinder 1.5 L BS6 engine delivering 19 PS and 200 Nm torque. The diesel engine will also have a 5-speed manual transmission system.
The interior is as beautifully designed as the exterior. The company has utilized different shades and colors and made an impressive interior contrast. Ambient lighting and a 7-inch touchscreen system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with a flat-bottom steering wheel with control buttons that gives overall a premium feel.
