The race to the Corona vaccine is getting steeper as the countries are claiming that they have overcome all the challenges of trails and hence, the vaccine is ready for global use.
The optimism under the circumstances is highly regarded, as it is high time to claim the perfected vaccine. Most of the vaccines are entering phase-III of testing while some are ahead but the perfected vaccine which will be utilized on a global scale does not seem a far-fetched notion at the given moment. A vaccine developed by Russia’s Sechenov University is grabbing headlines, the reports state vaccine may be available by mid-August should trails and testing progress without any hindrance.
Whereas, India’s first indigenous vaccine has begun its human trials at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna. COVAXIN is developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech in partnership with the Indian Council of Medical Research. Upon completion of the scheduled period, the volunteers will undergo a check-up for any side-effects of the vaccine.
The ICMR believes the experimental vaccine would work against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Should it work as expected as it had in animal studies, Bharat Biotech would be making an initial capacity of 200 million vials of the vaccine.
