The Founder of Ark and Arts – Ankita Baid, has graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore.
After her swift return to her homeland, she started her own venture and has been instrumental in designing unparalleled commercial and residential complexes across the length and breadth of the country. For her exceptional designs, she has been nominated for the NDTV Architecture Awards (DAA) for her excellent performance in the sector.
“When I started work, people told me that the design industry is very short-lived, and women can’t take it too far. The industry should become a bread provider to many in times to come,” states Ankita.
Despite voices telling her not to venture into the design industry, Ankita remains ardent She is steadfastly pursuing her vision of making design industry a leading industry of the country. Also, Ankita is offering several opportunities to the artist pool and ensuring their financial freedom as well.
Stellar Leader Paving the Path for Women
Ankita’s journey was no cakewalk. Her path is not as memorable as she wishes it to be because of several hurdles she had to overcome. But her key struggle was overcoming the friction of society and its acceptance towards a woman entrepreneur.
Since she has a sound understanding of challenges at work, she remained undeterred by the perceptions of society and kept going. She controlled the way she deals with problems and stressed perseverance to overcome them. Her leadership style is forged from such experiences.
“I believe that being independent is my birthright. I need to work hard and break stereotypes to be able to stand on my own feet. Every woman has the right to be financially and mentally independent. I support women who want to move forward,” says Ankita.

Because of the cultural barriers, Ankita found much resistance while carving her niche. Hence, she is focused on growing emotionally and mentally so that she can become a beacon of hope for the women in the country to follow. She encompassed in discovering herself as she believes in being progressive and pushing the boundaries.
While executing a project at the Imperial Jewellery showroom, she defined her identity and morph herself to become better. She accredits her gratitude towards her client who offered her full rights to exercise freedom and inspired her to express her design flair.
