Established in 2011 as a stand-alone MBA institute, LEAD is a start-of-the-art institution approved by AICTE and affiliated to University of Calicut besides accredited by NAAC. LEAD is an acronym derived from ‘Leadership & Entrepreneurship Academy, Dhoni’. As the name cast light on itself, Leadership & Entrepreneurship Academy, Dhoni (LEAD) spells out its unique existence. With a blend of theory and practical experience, it is not just professionals that the institute nurtures, but churn out leaders who would lead the business world with their vision and abilities. LEAD envisions in creating an academic environment where highest standards of academics and professionalism are met and besides the expectations of all stakeholders are consciously addressed.
The institute began with a mission to become a center of excellence in fostering entrepreneurship and managerial leadership unleashing one’s potential and help them to live their life to the fullest for their society to make it a better place to live in and a vision to become one of the leading management institutions developing socially committed successful leaders and entrepreneurs.
Presently, the institution offers only one course – MBA affiliated to the University of Calicut, Kerala.

Through the passage of time, LEAD has made an outstanding contribution to the Indian Education Sector and received extolment from various governmental and non-governmental agencies.
The recognition of LEAD was delayed as the affiliation by the University of Calicut, Kerala due to some procedural processes. But that did not deter the institute. As a result, the students were awarded a one-year free stay and excellent coaching that speaks in volume about the institute’s commitment towards the student and education. Not only did the institute faced affiliation delays but also there was difficulty in appointing faculties because of the location, Palakkad. Yet again, pushing the needs of students and an unparallel commitment towards education, LEAD employs best professors and many of them have an international reputation and recognition. Their total experience in teaching and research is approximately 200 years. The institute has research centers to foster appetite for research and publications to create visibility amongst institutions
The institute has a high-power personality development program. This program makes the students worthy, skillful, and turns them into business leaders of tomorrow.
LEAD grooms its students via industrial exposure and experiential learning techniques. The practical skills of the students are developed by industrial experts who impart best practices, making its students grabbing top packages in the industry. The Institute asserts that any student landing a package less than Rs. 3.5 lakh/pa will have the fees refunded! And so far, LEAD’s track record has not registered a single case.
While most of the business management institutions struggle to get 30-40% of their seats filled, LEAD scores over others by filling not less than 80% of the allocated seats for Indian nationals and foreign nationals by establishing a great rapport with the ecosystem consist of schools, colleges, parents, industry, headhunters and the neighborhood.
While other institutions are largely driven by university results and examination orientation, LEAD is poised for grooming, developing and crafting the students to fit the industry by constant exposure to the industry participation of students in various seminars, conferences, workshops, and the like. Dr. Thomas George, a psychologist turned entrepreneur, is an experienced Chairman with a demonstrated history of working in the professional training and coaching industry. Skilled in Talent Management, Business Planning, Customer Service, and Coaching. As a strong entrepreneurship professional, he received the “BEST INSTITUTION BUILDING” award by the National Institute of Personnel Management, India for his outstanding performance in developing LEAD.
Dr. Thomas George is the founding Chairman of LEAD College of Management. He obtained his Doctorate on the thesis ‘Enhancing Competencies of Engineering and Management Students’. He has M. Phil degrees in Psychology and Management, M.Sc. in Applied Psychology, MBA in Systems and B. Tech in Electronics and Communication. In 1994, he started Prompt Computers that developed into India’s largest touch screen network for Indian Railways. In 2002, he started giving soft skill training to youth and students. He is the chief mentor of Turning Point, a six-day life skill training program, highly recommended by management specialists.
