Mr. Jayant Sitaram Karve – Founder Director and Chief Executive Officer of RCupe Lifesciences, is tasked with the company’s operations. Mr. Jayant was instrumental in driving several innovations in the global markets as being a part of multinational medical device companies, national and international academia. He has also led many explorations in Gastroenterology/Minimally Invasive Endoscopy Procedures to identify unmet clinical needs and business opportunities for global markets at Boston Scientific.
As a part of the GE Healthcare Mr Jayant led the development of various diagnostic x-ray products from concept to manufacturing implementation while exploring various opportunities for diagnostic x-ray products. In doing so, he explored an opportunity for ‘A Mobile Rad system for the Indian market’ that would prove to be fruitful for the Indian medical industry.
Dynamic Persona
Having more than a decade and a half of experience in the medical devices industry, Mr. Jayant is working on developing innovative medical device solutions for both local and global markets.
He has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Pune, and a Masters degree in Product Design from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has completed a Stanford India Bio design Fellowship- a joint Program between Stanford University (USA), All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, and IIT Delhi.
Mr. Jayant has also completed the Executive Management program at IIM Bangalore. At Saïd Business School, Oxford University (UK), he completed Science, Innovation, and Policy Leadership Program.

“I have been an inventor and co-investigator for novel ‘Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation device for patients with Sudden Cardiac Arrest’. This project is a part of the initiative ‘Affordable Healthcare for India’. It is funded by Welcome Trust (UK) and is a collaboration between All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Biotech Consortium India Ltd.,” states Mr. Jayant.
His patented invention ‘OzynDTM’ was welcomed by the global community and for that, he was bestowed with an award from British Medical Journal India – for Novel Technology Innovation. That was not the end of the line for him as he filed multiple patents globally and published clinical papers in international journals. Some patents were granted while others are in process and soon, they would make headlines too.
Under his leadership, RCupe Lifesciences is working relentlessly towards developing and commercializing medical device solutions.
